GETTING THERE

From I-78 take Exit 4 (Warren Glen/Stewartsville). Turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp and continue for 1.8 miles to a blinking stoplight in Stewartsville. Turn right onto County Route 638 (Washington Street, then New Village Road) and continue 2.3 miles to NJ 57 (along the way, you will see a sign that instructs you to turn left to reach NJ 57; ignore this sign and continue straight ahead). Turn right onto NJ 57, then immediately turn left onto Montana Road. In 2 miles, bear left at a fork onto Richline Road, and in another 0.3 mile, turn left onto Merrill Creek Road. Bear right at the next fork and continue to the main parking lot for the Merrill Creek Reservoir. Park here and walk to the visitor center, where you can obtain a trail map and view the interesting exhibits (if the visitor center is closed, a trail map may be obtained from a kiosk in the parking lot).
